Do I need to purchase a ticket to “attend” the auction? No! Our online auction is open to everyone! While you don't need to purchase a ticket to participate, you can make a donation by purchasing a “ticket” or “table.” If you had previously purchased a ticket to our Gala, we are offering refunds, but if you would like the money can be donated directly in support of The Nest Best Thing. Please reach out to Theresa Lucier at luciert@bghs.org with any questions.
Where is the money raised going? All the money raised will go directly to emergency financial assistance for families affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. In addition, we are pledging a percentage of money raised to End 68 Hours of Hunger Nashua, a non-profit effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school Friday and the free breakfast they receive in school Monday, as well as vendors who would normally have helped us with our Gala.
When is The Nest Best Thing online auction? Bidding will begin on Sunday, March 29th at 12:00 PM until Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00 PM on items traditionally found in our Gala Silent Auction. Items normally up for bid in our Gala Live Auction and Blue Light Specials will open for bidding on Thursday, April 2nd at 8:00 PM and close on Saturday, April 4th at 10:00 PM.
How do I participate in the auction? You can register to participate in the auction here. There is no cost to do so, however you will need to provide credit card information for payment of your winning items. Also, make sure you include your mobile number and email when you register.
Can only members of the BG community participate? Everyone can support the Nest Best Thing by participating in our online auction! Invite your family, friends, and neighbors. Share the link to our event website on social media and tag your classmates! All they have to do is register!
What happens when the bidding begins?
- When the auction opens, you will receive an automated ‘Welcome’ text or email with your bidder link. After clicking the link, begin searching for packages by name, number, or category.
- Select the package you wish to bid on.
- You can Bid the next increment or Bid More than the next increment
- If you choose to Bid More you can choose to set your Max Bid. If your max bid is the highest, the system will automatically bid in your favor until you are outbid or until the silent auction closes. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid.
- To purchase a package at the Buy Now price, select the Buy button.
- To "watch" a package, select the star icon on the package.
- To make a donation, select the Donation button on your home screen and enter the amount you wish to donate.
- If you’re out-bid at any point before the auction closes, you will receive a text message.
- To view packages you are bidding on, click the menu button and select Bids.
- To view packages you are watching, click the menu button and select Favorites.
- Once the auction closes, the guest with the highest bid will win.
- Under the Bids area you can check your winning packages.
Will this work for all mobile devices? Yes, you can bid with any mobile device.With smartphones and tablets, you can browse, search, and bid via a web browser. When registering your mobile device, you will be provided a custom URL for bidding purposes. With standard mobile phones, you can bid and receive alerts via text messaging.
Do I have to pay shipping costs on the items I am a winning bidder on if I don’t live nearby? Yes, the winning bidder of any auction item will be responsible for shipping costs. We plan to also offer in-person pick-up.
Am I able to make a cash donation? Of course! Donations can be made directly on our site here.
What about the Baubles and Gems and Tuition Raffles? Tickets for both raffles are still being sold! You can purchase tickets here. Winners will be chosen after the auction ends.
Is it too late to donate an auction item? No! Please click here for a list of suggested items and contact Theresa Lucier at luciert@bghs.org if you want to donate.
How can I request a refund if I have already purchased a ticket? Please reach out directly to Theresa Lucier at luciert@bghs.org. You can also choose to donate the cost of the ticket back to this effort.
Will the Gala be back? Absolutely! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 10th, 2021!
